MIMA Radiology is pleased to offer a full range of imaging services to both MIMA physicians and external physicians within the Brevard community.  MIMA Radiology offers physicians and patients  with access to two 1.5T high field strength MRI magnets, including an "OPEN" magnet at our Malabar location. Additionally, we offer 64-slice CT (including Cardiac CT) at our Gateway and Malabar location as well as PET/CT services at our Hickory St. location. Medical Image Viewing and Storage

The manner in which medical professionals view and permanently store medical images has changed dramatically. Traditionally, medical images were processed and developed on radiographic film. Now, the use of computer technologies like Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) allow medical images to be processed, interpreted, stored, and distributed as digital files directly to a computer.

This type of advanced communication technology allows multiple medical images to be sent directly to a computer workstation. At the workstation, the Radiologist can review and manipulate the medical images for interpretation purposes. A robust PACS enables the Radiologist to manipulate the medical images as needed so that the diagnostic information is optimized. This type of medical communication system also allows for timely consultation between the Radiologist and the patient’s referring physician that can expedite the care and treatment the patient receives.

If a patient needs to take their images to a referring physician directly, the patient may pick up an image CD at the MIMA Radiology / Gateway location. Please call ahead of time to request this service at 321-725-4500 Ext. 7222. The Radiology department requires a 48-hour notice for all CD requests.
